Behaviour Therapy is an evidence-based approach grounded in the science of behaviour analysis. It focuses
on understanding why behaviours occur and teaching more adaptive alternatives. At The Behaviour Clinic, our behaviour analysts are not only certified at the highest practice level in behavioural science (BCBA, UKBA(cert)), they also hold post-qualifying training in ACT, CBT, and DBT.
This combination of behavioural expertise and therapeutic training allows our team to design highly individualised programmes that address a wide range of complex behaviours. These programmes are structured, evidence-based, and tailored to the unique needs of each young person, while also providing support for parents and carers to ensure change continues beyond the therapy room.
This individualised Behaviour Therapy is delivered by Board-Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs)/ UKBA(cert).
All of our practitioners have completed additional post-qualifying training in therapies such
as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical
Behaviour Therapy (DBT), equipping them with a unique skill set to combine behavioural science with
therapeutic interventions.

Behaviour Therapy is suitable for children, adolescents, and adults, particularly those with complex
needs that may not respond to traditional therapies alone. It is especially effective for young people who
display behaviours that place them at risk, cause harm, or arise from histories of trauma and abuse.
Behaviour Therapy at The Behaviour Clinic begins with a comprehensive assessment and case formulation,
identifying the antecedents, functions, and maintaining factors behind behaviour, feelings and thought
patterns. From there, an individualised programme is designed that sets clear goals, outlines evidence
based strategies, and maps out how progress will be tracked.
