Trauma Informed Care & Therapy

What Trainings Do We Offer?

We offer five forms of Life Story Work Training for parents, carers, and practitioners, ranging from foundational workshops that explain what Life Story Work is and how to use it day-to-day, through to in depth therapeutic training for those delivering Life Story Work directly with children.

TRIBE Trauma-Informed Care Training is more than a course, it provides a practical foundation for anyone supporting children who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) or trauma. Designed by specialists, it combines science with compassion, giving participants the skills, strategies, and confidence to make a lasting difference.

The Behaviour Clinic Trainings

TRIBE Trauma Informed Care Training

TRIBE training underpins everything we do, linking to our therapeutic services, consultations, and the wider TRIBE
community, so that families and professionals can work from a shared, consistent approach. It can be completed as a stand-alone course or combined with a TRIBE assessment, therapy, or parent consultation to create a
tailored package of support.
This is a nine-module programme delivered in an interactive workshop format. It can be completed over nine weeks (two hours per week online) or in an intensive 3–5 day block for organisations.

Five Approached To Life Story Work

This FREE training course provides a foundation in
what Life Story Work is, the barriers to effective practice, and how parents, carers, and practitioners can all play a role in creating meaningful Life Story Work for children. It offers a practical starting point for anyone wanting to understand and apply the Five Approaches model.

Life Story Listening

Life Story Listening is a foundational approach
from the Five Approaches to Life Story Work. It teaches
carers and professionals how to create space for a
young person to share their story at their own pace, while offering comfort, empathy, and co-regulation. The course also covers when Life Story Work should take place, how to respond to difficult conversations, and what to do when you don’t have all the answers.

Life Story Coaching

Life Story Coaching is the third most intensive form
of Life Story Work, focusing on how a trusted “coach”
can play an active role in a young person’s Life Story
journey. Coaches create a safe space to share, question,
and reflect while helping young people explore alternate
perspectives and process their experiences. Coaches may also undertake short, discrete pieces of Life Story Work.

Life Story Direct Work (ppf)

Life Story PPF - Past, Present, Future - is a structured model of Life Story Work developed at The Behaviour Clinic for social workers and social care practitioners. It provides a certified, practical approach to delivering direct work with children, giving them a safe way to explore and understand their story.

Developed after years of practice, PPF was designed
for children who may not need intensive therapy but do
benefit from structured Life Story support. It empowers
practitioners to provide meaningful sessions as part of
their ongoing visits.

Therapeutic Life Story Work (TLSW)

TLSW is an intensive, 10-month training programme.
teaches how to guide a young person through a coherent written narrative of their life, while integrating
therapeutic techniques to address trauma, psychological
challenges, and complex behaviours.

As a psychodynamic therapy, TLSW draws on
approaches such as CBT, ACT, and Play Therapy,
enabling practitioners to explore core beliefs, attachment relationships, and the impact of adverse childhood experiences. This structured model helps young people make sense of their past and supports long-term healing.
